Help make the Eel River Bar a cleaner place

We are a group of 4 Wheel Drive owners that have formed this club to promote safe, fun, and responsible outdoor recreation. We follow Tread Lightly guidelines.

History:
The LOST COAST 4x4's club was formed in Fortuna, California in the summer of 1992. About six members were active that summer. The club began building and recruiting new members. By the summer of 1993, There were about a dozen members. We now have about 50 members. 
Meetings are the first Tuesday of every month.  Club Meetings start at 7:00 PM and usually last about 90 minutes.


Club Goals:
Have Fun! Increase Membership Continue working with the Six Rivers National Forest on adopting trails. Stay politically active to maintain access to public lands. Promote the TREAD LIGHTLY! program Help educate our fellow fourwheelers.


Annual Events:

Eel River Clean up - We clean up ton's of trash every year on the Eel River.

Rodeo Parade - We participate in the Fortuna Rodeo Parade every year.

Rubicon Bash - We have started an annual run of the Rubicon Trail.

Oregon Creek N Trail - A trail just north of the California border. 

Rhododendron Parade - We participate in this parade. 

Beach Clean up - We cleaned the South Jetty yearly (It is now closed to Vehicles)

Kinetic Sculpture Race - We help out on this as volunteers. 

Cruz'n Eureka - We participate as well as help out on this car show to benefit
"Make-A-Wish Foundation".

Truckers Christmas Parade - We help out as volunteers for the benefit of the Boys and Girls Club
of Humboldt County.

We have at least one official club run per month, sometimes as many as 3 runs in a month. We are a member of CA4WDC, the Blue Ribbon Coalition and the  Specialty Equipment Market Association.

Second Annual Rubicon Bash

Some of our trails in and around Humboldt County and vicinity: 

Blanket Creek
- 3,000 feet in 4 miles. One way in, same way out.
 
High Plateau (closed, we fought the law, i.e. Forest Service, but the law won)
- The Grand Canyon of the Smith River. Old mining trails. Open during the summer dry season.
 
Tamarack Lake
- Near the Trinity Alps. Old mines. Lakes, lakes and more lakes.
 
Cruising along the beach (Closed, we are fighting the law, i.e. BLM, but the law hasn't won yet!)

Orleans Mountain -  
Climbs to an old Fire lookout. 360' view with the Trinity Alps to the east
